Rainy Tuesday

I love the spring, but I love a rainy day too.
Just finished this hat last night....
Rainbow Marley
It's from Itty Bitty Hats {by Susan B. Anderson} and I used what I had {Size 8 circular needles and Vanna White Yarn in various colors.} so it doesn't look the same, at all.  I haven't added the topper which I need some practice at first but it looks really cute without it too since it's saggy all over.

It suits Maleiah perfectly with her free spirit, love for Ziggy and her hair that resembles dreads most days anyway.

Caeden has been reading like crazy.  Last night on his way out the door to Lacrosse practice he was trying to grab a book to take with him to read on the way {we live 5 minutes from the field}.  He has really enjoyed these books:

And a recipe...
{Our favorite blueberry muffin recipe, we have making a lot of them lately.}

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Ingredients
{I usually double the muffin recipe but not the crumb topping, or I save the leftover topping for another baked good such as banana bread. :)}

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
Crumb Topping
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup butter, cubed
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease muffin cups or line with muffin liners.

Combine 1 1/2 cups flour, 3/4 cup sugar, salt and baking powder.
Place vegetable oil into a 1 cup measuring cup; add the egg and enough milk to fill the cup. Mix this with flour mixture. Fold in blueberries.
Fill muffin cups right to the top, and sprinkle with crumb topping mixture.
*To Make Crumb Topping: Mix together 1/2 cup sugar, 1/3 cup flour, 1/4 cup butter, and 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon. Mix with fork, and sprinkle over muffins before baking.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until done.
