Did you know that a sea turtle could get so big?  This week we are learning about sea turtles!  They don't have teeth, their shells are attached to their skeleton {so those silly cartoons of the turtle outside of it's shell is inaccurate} and sea turtles can't really hide in their shells either.  The giant leatherback can grow to be 9 feet long and 6 feet wide!  We had a lot of fun drawing our rainbow version of the leatherback on the driveway.  The kids talked about all the things you could do on the back of a leatherback.  Like for instance, camping, sleeping and surfing.

Next week we are learning about sea snakes and frogs...yuck.
